Borehole geophysics provides a means of evaluating various properties of subsurface rocks, soils and fluids. Probes measuring various, specific properties are lowered into boreholes collecting either continuous or point data.
The program consists of two standard modules, the Geometry Modeller and the FE-mesh Generator, and several other customizable modules for pre- and post-processing data (defining domain properties, boundary conditions and graphical display of results).
MESHGEN Plus has been used as a base library for the development of HYDRUS 2D/3D. Currently we are finishing a new version of MESHGEN Plus that can be used either as a stand-alone application (for preparing data for other FEM programs - see Meshgen Area 2011) or for the rapid development of new FEA programs.
The 1500F2, 15 Bar Pressure Plate Extractor, is used to analyze the water-holding characteristics of soil samples throughout the pressure range of interest in most agricultural applications. The pressure vessel is 4" (10 cm) deep and has an inside diameter of 12" (30 cm). Up to 4 ceramic plates can be accomodated at one time, allowing approximately 36 2-1/4" samples to be analyzed simultaneously. The Pressure Plate Extractor consists of a pressure vessel and lid, clamping bolts, O-ring seals, and outflow tube assemblies.
The SIR® 4000 is GSSI’s first high-performance GPR data acquisition system designed to operate with analog and digital antennas. This evolutionary step allows true versatility and flexibility by supporting a wide range of users, beginner to advanced, in numerous applications.
The SIR 4000 incorporates advanced display modes and filtering capabilities for ‘in-the-field’ processing and imaging. Fully integrated, the system provides a simple user interface, plug-and-play GPS integration, and convenient data transfer options.
The WEST Systems Fluxmeter is a portable instrument for the measurement of diffuse degassing phenomena, based on the accumulation chamber method, suitable for volcanic and geothermal areas as well as soil respiration rate in agronomy. This method studied for soil respiration in agronomy (Parkinson, 1981) and for soil degassing in volcanic areas (Cioni et al. 1998), has been designed by WEST Systems to obtain a portable instrument that allows the performance of measurements with very good accuracy in a short time.
The Slammer is a heavy-duty waveguide connector designed for rugged field use. It is designed for inserting waveguides into hard, dry, and compacted soils, and for comfort and ease in making multiple measurements. The removable 2.5 lb sliding hammer can be used to insert waveguides under the most difficult of conditions. Waveguides, ordered separately, are available in lengths ranging from 20 cm to 60 cm. Note: In order to use the Slammer with your Trase unit, the Trase must be running version 2110A software.
